Rest day

After a wacky weekend and pushing myself, I've done 20 up and down the stairs, 60 squats, and 40 lunges. All with my 28lb pack (full of cookbooks and fairy tale books for weight)!! My breathing is getting better (damn allergies/cold/congestion)!! My knee is a tad angry today. I don't think standing around at a concert in crappy shoes helped, either.

Tomorrow I start back again. I want to be strong enough so I don't feel like I want to die when we start.

51 days till we leave. I can't wait to have something amazing to blog about other than exercising and shopping for gear. Oh well maybe I'll make this into a book 'How to thru hike the Appalachian Trail when you've never backpacked anywhere'. Well that's just a working title..

Still looking for the good deal on the tent. We're watching eBay tonight. Fingers crossed..

57 left to go...

So, 13 up the stairs and back down. 2 lunges at the top for a total of 26 and 3 squats at the bottom for a total of 39! With a 28lb pack!! Oh and I did 10 wall push ups!! 

I think I'm going to start calling this Appalachian Trail house cross fit..

And on a lighter note I'm super stoked to find more hiking partners for some long distance hikes! Yay!!

And Pants thinks she wants to hike the trail too. She could also double as a flashlight.

58 days and counting..

So here we are at the 58 days mark. Training today entailed running up and down the stairs 10 times with my 28lb pack on and doing 30 squats. I figure if I do that every day and add 2 more up and downs, some more squats and a few lunges at the top of the stairs, I just might be ready to climb me a mountain!!

So far we've got everything except a tent. Rob bought one on ebay but the jackass never sent the damn tent.. Oh well at least he got his money back..
